In my experience I have had the opportunity to use a plethora of testing tools, to include Rational Test Manager, Mercury Quality Center, Mercury Quick Test Pro, Rational Robot and Functional Tester, Segue Silk Test, JUnit, and NUnit. While I've found most tools to be effective, they do require correct installation and configuration. An incorrect configuration can render a tool ineffective for the purposes of efficient software testing. To that end I set out to develop a purely web based test management tool that would require minimal configuration and maintenance. The tool has been dubbed Valkyrie and is a purely web based test management tool. Written in Ruby on Rails, this project is the first development project for ESQA.
Please, feel free to look at Valkyrie, but keep in mind that it is currently a work in progress. I'm still learning Ruby and have hit a few snags. The test script functionality is not working as of yet. I would welcome any suggestions and or help and would gladly make this an open source project.
